Man Sentenced to Life for Murder of Good Samaritan
In a tragic incident in Sheffield, a man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a Good Samaritan. The victim, Chris Marriott, was killed when the perpetrator drove his car into a crowd during a wedding brawl.
The 25-year-old man used his car as a weapon to plough into Chris Marriott, who was coming to the aid of a woman during the violent family brawl. The incident took place just after Christmas in 2023.
The perpetrator arrived at the scene in his Seat Ibiza and first drove into the father of the other family, Riasat Khan, before ploughing into a crowd of people, including Chris Marriott, who tragically lost his life.
The sentencing judge, Mr Justice Morris, has ordered the perpetrator to serve at least 26 years in prison before being considered for parole.
This senseless act of violence has left a community in mourning and serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of such reckless behavior.
