The news of the studio’s closure comes as a blow to many in the gaming community, who were eagerly anticipating the release of Ghost. Street’s experience with World of Warcraft and League of Legends had raised hopes for a new and innovative MMO experience.
NetEase, the publisher backing the studio, has also announced the closure of a fifth Western studio, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the future of the MMO being developed by Street and his team.
While the closure of the studio is disappointing, it serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by developers in the gaming industry. Despite the passion and talent of individuals like Greg Street, the road to success in the world of MMOs can be a rocky one.
